Greetings my angling friends,
Winter is setting now into beautiful Montana and on Dec. 3rd I head down to Argentina for some warm weather fishing. First, I must thank all my 2009 guests for the visit and your company. The economy affected many things, our business at the Lodge, not excepting. I appreciate the value you place on fishing and staying with us, inspite of the tough economic times. Your loyality and devotion is not unnoticed and I will remember it always. Life is to be enjoyed everyday and year, that will continue to be my attitude here at the lodge. We look forward to many fine days with you astream in one of the most wonderful and beautiful locations on earth. the Missouri River region of Montana.
Sincerely,
Arnie, Blondie,Caddis, Cahill and Indy

New Decade/Same Olde Arnie
What a wonderful 20 year ride it has been to live and enjoy the wonders of one of the top fisheries in the world. Hopefully you have had the same enjoyment that I have in fooling the willy trout of this area of Montana. I am so blessed to share it with all of my guest that have been so terrific to me and my gudies and staff. Thank you so much for your great spirit and patronage, we could not do it without you our great friends and guests! God Bless You!

Angling on the Missouri was good except for the month of September. It was the warmest fall ever on record with termperatures well into the 90's even late in the month. April and May fished well with nymphs and some midges and March Browns. June's high water hurt the dryflying but nymphing was good Hatches in the months of July and August were good for PMD's and caddis and Trico's were noticeably weaker. With cool moderate days the small streams fished well. Snowpack as of late November is 140-175 % of normal and ski areas are opening early. We are off to a good start, let us hope that this trend continues!

| Missouri River Fish Population |
|
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks have released the fisheries survey on the Missouri River and what a X-mas present it was! Biologist found 3,458 rainbows longer than 10 inches in the Crag area. The long term average is 2,917, a significant increase. Better yet 85% of the rainbows were 15" or larger and fish in the 18 inch group were 24% of the population. Down in the lower river the estimate is 1,577 fish per mile and the average is 1,494. In this section 64% of the rainbows were at least 15". Brown trout numbers are also up with the Craig section at 584/mile (average is 578/mile ) and in the Pelican Pt area the estimate is 611 ( average is 358/mile). We are starting the next decade with a GREAT population of fish!
