Great fishing isn't the only incentive to visit Missouri Riverside Outfitters & Lodge, many world-class options can add another dimension to your stay or interest the non-angler in your group.
All within a half hour driver is the world renowned Charles Russell Museum of Western Art, the Lewis & Clark Interpretative Center, the First People Pishkun Center, the Montana Historical Society Museum, Holter Lake Recreation Area and the Last Chance Gulch shopping area. Another 30-40 minutes will put you into two of the West's best birding areas in the beautiful Freezeout Wildlife Management area and the Lake Benton Wildlife Management area and the U.S. largest wilderness complex the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area (otherwise known as just "The Bob").
The Charles M Russell Museum in Great Falls, MT is one of the top western art Mecca's in the U.S. This fantastic selection of one of the best western artists ever, includes many of Charlie's most famous works, sculptures and letters which reveals to us the frontier experience in the early West. Also in Great Falls is the Lewis & Clark Center which depicts the struggles of the Corp Of Discovery in battling the Great Falls of the Missouri and the rest of the perils in their remarkable journey. This world-class museum also hosts lectures in early western life, a big theater with films, a great library and bookstore with
literature that will fascinate the history buff. Just 20 minutes from the lodge is the First People Pishkun Center, this great center highlights the world's largest buffalo jump and many other interesting details about the Native Americans of the West.
Towards Helena, within 15 minutes of the lodge is the Holter Lake Recreation area with its swimming areas, picnic areas, hiking and boating. In Helena itself lies the historic shopping area called the Last Chance Gulch area with all kinds of western artists, shops highlighting the local rare Yoggo sapphires of Montana and great western clothing. The Montana Historical Society Museum is one the top attractions in Montana, that puts into perspective the challenges of the settlers of Montana.
Oh.... I almost forgot the two most spectacular parks in the U.S. Park System, Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. Yellowstone Park is 3 1/2 hours from the lodge and Glacier is about 2 1/2 hours away.
